Incorporated in 2021, MGEL was established to manage a 10 per cent shareholding in Western Green Energy Hub (WGEH), a proposed renewable energy project on Mirning Country. MGEL is optimistic about the potential opportunities that may arise from the WGEH project. We aim to support sustainable economic development on Mirning Country, creating lasting opportunities for Mirning People. Through our 10 per cent shareholding, we are committed to fostering economic independence, strengthening Mirning business participation, and ensuring that the benefits generated from the project contribute directly to the community.
We will advocate for Mirning enterprises, support employment and training opportunities, and explore pathways for future investments that enhance long-term prosperity. By aligning our efforts with WAMPAC’s broader goals, we will contribute to strong governance, community- led decision-making, and the development of assets that provide enduring benefits for future generations. MGEL is committed to ensuring that the opportunities arising from the WGEH project lead to meaningful social, cultural, and economic outcomes, reinforcing the self-determination of the Mirning People and their connection to Country.
